This semester I have three senior project positions available. I expect all students to attend to the weekly group meetings and prepare a weekly progress report. First 2 weeks of the project will be devoted to mandatory trainings, literature review and getting used to the lab. The rest will be project specific. Here are the […]

Dr. Kasırga Delivered an Invited Talk at NanoTR 14 Conference

Dr. Kasırga is invited by the organizing committee of NanoTR 14 to deliver a speech on SCMLab’s recent studies on TMDC synthesis. NanoTR is one of the largest international conference on nanotechnology in Turkey and 14th of the event is organized in İzmir/Turkey this year. The event web site:

Our work on the photoresponse of metallic transition metal dichalcogenides appeared on Phys. Rev. B

“Photocurrent generation is unexpected in metallic 2D layered materials unless a photothermal mechanism is prevalent. Yet, typical high thermal conductivity and low absorption of the visible spectrum prevent photothermal current generation in metals. Here, we report photoresponse from two-terminal devices of mechanically exfoliated metallic 3R-NbS2 thin crystals using scanning photocurrent microscopy (SPCM) both at zero and […]

A new research grant to our group!

We recently received a new research grant from TUBİTAK 1001 program. The research project involves investigation of 2D metallic transition metal dichalcogenides’ electronic, optoelectronic and thermal properties.   The total budget of the project is 300000 TL and the project will span 30 months.
